FOOTBALL GAMES AND CONTESTS

Parents who volunteer at Football Games may qualify to enter the game for free.

Parents who attend contests may qualify to enter the contest for free.

(All contests have a limited quantity of Volunteer Passes)

Mr. Wilson sells discounted tickets for most contests that can be purchased ahead of time.

Here is a list of slots you can volunteer for in CHARMS:

  • Pre-Game meals - Meal Server - serve meals to students 4pm - 5pm every Friday night before the football game

  • Contest Meal Server - Saturday and some weekday contests (times vary)

  • Pit Crew - Front Ensemble instrument and equipment movers - assist Front Ens Students moving their instruments and equipment on and off the field at half-time and then from the field to the school after performance

  • Pit Crew - Drum Major podium movers - move drum major podiums on and off the field at half time and from field to school after performance

  • Chaperones - Bus Riders for long drive contests or on-site chaperones at contests

  • Water Crew - filling and transporting our 6 - 5 gallon Igloo water coolers to and from the stadium at games and at contests.  (From these coolers the students can refill their water containers)

  • Plumes - Place Plumes into Shakos (shako is uniform hat) right before performances and help removing them after performance and storing them.  Students are not allowed to place or remove these themselves to ensure the plumes feathers are not damaged.

  • Snack Donations - donations for snacks and fruits - we like to try to keep our students well fed in between meals.

CONTESTS - 18-Wheeler/Equipment Trailer - Instruments-Equipment-Props

Though it is the responsibility of our students in band and guard to load and unload our 18-wheeler and equipment trailer and setup props, we always accept the help of parents attending contests who wish to give a hand.  We have designated students who run the loading and unloading, look for them to ask where your help is most needed.

Behind the scenes volunteering

Perhaps you can't attend games or contests but have other useful skills to help out our band and guard.  We are in search of parents with craft and building skills to possibly help with the building and upkeep of props, equipment and uniforms.  If you would like to offer your services in these areas please email our Volunteer Coordinator and let that Booster Club Board member know your skills and when you are available.
